The goggles indicate a procedure that requires special safety precautions.
The magnifying glass allows you to take a closer look at a structure or procedure. Sometimes a closer look leads to an animation that is key to your understanding, so don't skip magnifying glasses.

Animations
|
Animations occur throughout LabBench, giving you a unique opportunity to view biological processes in action. Select the "Replay" button to view animations multiple times.

Glossary
|
Words in blue boldface type link you to The Biology Place glossary. You can also link to the glossary from any page by selecting "Glossary" from the site navigator. Once in the glossary, you can return to a project by pressing the "Back" button on your browser.

Testing Yourself
|
Throughout LabBench you will find questions and sample problems followed by a dialog box where you can enter your answer. Selecting the "Check Your Answer" button shows you the correct answer and an explanation. Sometimes there will be questions for you to think about on your own. These do not have a dialog box for your answer.

Each LabBench activity has at least one Lab Quiz. When you submit your quiz, your answers will be evaluated.
